About the McIntosh 1890s Festival

A Premiere Festival in a Victorian Setting

The McIntosh 1890s Festival is recognized as one of Florida’s premiere festivals.  Over the years, it has grown to over 250 vendors and as many as 40,000 visitors.  It’s now too large for nostalgic parades and home tours, but continues to draw crowds to quality arts, crafts, antiques, custom jewelry, and even homemade goodies.  McIntosh’s hospitality and Victorian charm are always an attractive feature. The Friends of McIntosh’s 1890s Festival is the largest fundraiser of the year for several local organizations as well as for the Friends.  As in the early days of the festival, only proceeds from booth space rentals and Gazette advertising go to the Friends of McIntosh.

The Town of McIntosh

Established in the 1880s, McIntosh flourished in the 1890s.  The small town between Gainesville and Ocala in north central Florida retains its Victorian charm today.  Streets shaded by massive live oak trees and lined with beautifully maintained Victorian homes are the perfect setting for a fall arts and crafts festival.  Over 60 structures in this one square mile village are on the National Register of Historic Places.  The town of 450 on the west shore of Orange Lake sees 35,000 to 40,000 visitors yearly for the McIntosh 1890s Festival.
